Developing Perseverance

Lord I thank you for these eyes
Though one’s a sight it’s true
All red and swollen shut now,
Yet, both are fixed on you.

Lord, I thank you for these hands
Numb though one may be
I lift them both in praise
For the grace you’ve given me.

And what about that flat tire?
That could have been a pain,
But thank you, it was Steve’s day off
So … he changed it in the rain.

Lord, I love you, praise you, thank you
When Satan’s arrows strike my back,
I must be doing something good
To warrant the attack.
