Jury Duty

Content in any circumstance…
Does that mean even here?
When all I’ve down for hours, Lord
Is just sit on my rear?

And wait, and wait, and wait some more
To do my “civic duty”
There’s so much more I’d like to do
Than just sit on my patooty.

Any yet in every circumstance
Your word says be content,
But Lord I fear my patience
Has been grossly overspent.

And all I want to do right now
Is leave here and go home.
And yet, Thy will, not mine be done
My life is not my own.

My civic duty shall be done
But more than that, Your will
Cause me to have patience, Lord
To just wait and be still.

So mold me, shape me, use me Lord
I am Your willing child,
But if they choose me howse about
A swift and speedy trial?!
