Sweet Surrender

Lord, I’m tired of this “half-life”
I’ve been living for so long,
Serving You on just my terms
So stubborn and headstrong.

Lord, please forgive my arrogance
I yearn now for much more …
To truly know the purpose
I was created for.

So long have I attempted
To rely on my own strength.
Too long have I declared my love
Yet held You at arms’ length.

No longer does this satisfy
The want inside of me.
Lord, I surrender all to You;
Sweet Spirit, set me free.

Unencumbered, unrestrained,
I’m answering Your call.
Have now what Your heart desires …
My heart … my life … my all.
